Test & Measurement

OTDR

OTDRs enable both novice and expert technicians to quickly and reliably troubleshoot optical networks or fully characterize newly installed or repaired networks. Using it’s innovative SmartAuto mode, multi-pulse OTDR scans quickly and accurately detect, locate, identify and measure network components and faults. After applying industry-standard or user-set pass/fail criteria, the characterized network is displayed using it’s intuitive, icon-based LinkMap view. It automates test setup, shortens test time and simplifies results interpretation, improving efficiency and reducing the cost of test. Results may be stored internally or externally. Internally stored results are easily accessed via USB.

OLTS

OLTS Certifier measures insertion loss, return loss, and length bi-directionally to industry standards on both multimode and single mode networks. OLTS Certifier is offered as a matched pair of units, with each unit featuring 4 test ports. Two of the ports combine a light source and power meter to enable bi-directional testing on single or dual fibres. The other two ports are a dedicated power meter and a visual fault identifier (VFI) to help troubleshoot networks. OLTS Certifier is available in two models: an intelligent base (iB1) model with an integrated display and compact base (cB1) model that requires a paired smart device

We specialize in fiber no matter how large or small the project. This is the reason why the southeast depends so heavily on Telecom Fiber as their primary fiber optic contractor. We specialize in telecom, wireless, energy, or industrial solutions.

FEATURES:

Cable Certifier

End-to-end links are used to directly connect machines or other devices using twisted pair or twisted quad cabling. Other than in office cabling, end-to-end links are terminated with plugs instead of connectors. Depending on the use of the cabling it may consist of 4 or 8 wires with or without shield.
A special challenge for field testing is the fact that links are terminated with plugs instead of jacks. Field testers are regularly set up to test channel- and permanent link configurations. The channel link configuration unfortunately cannot be used for testing of industrial links since the channel link configuration specifically masks out the first and last connector. Testing in regular channel link configuration would therefore result in excluding the first and last connector from testing. The installer would not be able to detect termination faults in those connectors.
